I am a clinical psychologist and a social documentary photographer. My current research on media representations of mental illness is an intersection between these differing fields. I am particularly interested in how visual media may inform public perceptions of individuals with a mental illness. I am developing a large archive of historical and modern visual media in order to identify common themes in portrayals of the mentally ill. I am also interested in the dissemination and implementation of evidence-based interventions and structured assessments in real world community clinics.
