Student Involvement

Gerald Harris, Student Activities

Student organizations at Rhodes provide students with opportunities to participate in activities that can help expand their intellectual, spiritual, emotional, professional, and cultural abilities. These organizations are important components of academic and social life of the college. To meet all the different developmental needs of students, Rhodes offers a multitude of student groups covering academics, honor societies, administrative liaisons, sports, Greek life (fraternities and sororities), performance groups, publications, religious organizations, service organizations and student governance. Every student is encouraged to join organizations that appeal to their interests.

Involvement with student organizations creates a connection between the student and the college and encourages persistence. It supports the Rhodes Vision:

Rhodes College aspires to graduate students with a life-long passion for learning, a compassion for others, and the ability to translate academic study and personal concern into effective leadership and action in their communities and the world.

SACK Fair is where new and returning students share information about student organizations to obtain information about student organizations, study abroad opportunities and community service activities. It is held each year at the beginning of the Fall semester, so be sure to ask your student about activities choices based on information from the fair. If you have any question or concerns, please contact the Office of Student Activities (901-843-3552).
