Keeping Up with the Lynxes

By Bryan Hearn ’09

Are you a parent of a Rhodes student-athlete?  If so, you’ve probably been in this situation before: your son or daughter is playing in an important conference competition, but you can’t watch his or her game because you are a couple of states over and hundreds of miles away.

But with the Internet, there are different ways to keep up with your son or daughter’s team without actually being at the game.  With these resourceful links, the Lynx will never be far away:

  • RhodesLynx.com. This revamped Web site covers everything Lynx sports, offering news highlights and photos, an interactive events calendar, scrolling team information, team schedules and rosters, and biographical information on players and coaches.
  • Teamline.cc.  Want to listen to live play-by-play of Lynx games?  This site will satisfy your needs.
  • SCAC-Online.  The official site for the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference provides live scores, audio and video from conference games.   It also offers an in-depth look into conference standings, statistics and rankings.  Conference record books and academic honor roll lists are also available on the site.
  • NCAA Sports.  The official site for the National Collegiate Athletic Association provides scores from and stories about college sports teams from all across the country.
  • In addition, The Commercial Appeal sports website occasionally covers Lynx sports.

Does your son or daughter play on an intramural squad or a club sports team?  Check out these links for recreational sports at Rhodes:

  • Rhodes Club Sports.  Within RhodesLynx.com, this site details information on Rhodes’ extensive club sports offerings.
  • Rhodes Intramurals.  Also within RhodesLynx.com, this site provides results, schedules and standings for flag football, wiffleball, tennis, basketball, racquetball, volleyball and soccer intramurals.
