Summer Send-Offs

Each year, Rhodes attracts a talented group of new students from across the country. To help welcome these students and their parents into the Rhodes community, we host Summer Send-Off parties in select cities each year. These events give the new students and their parents an opportunity to meet current students and parents from their communities. It also allows them one last chance to ask last-minute questions and eliminate some of the anxieties about starting college.

The events are typically held during the last two weeks of July and the first two weeks of August in the following cities: Atlanta, Birmingham, Dallas, Houston, Little Rock, Memphis, Nashville, and New Orleans. Additional cities—including Austin, Mobile, San Antonio, St. Louis, and Washington, D.C.—may be added if they have a minimum of 10 new students. Summer Send-Off cities are determined by the number of incoming students from the area.

Hosted by parents of current Rhodes students in their homes, Summer Send-Offs provide new students with a “send off” to a new chapter in their lives.
