Martial Arts Instructor Milan Vigil Offers Fall Taijiquan Courses

Milan Vigil, director of Yang’s Martial Arts Association, is teaching Taijiquan each Wednesday now through Dec. 4 (7:30 p.m.-9:30 p.m.) through Rhodes’ Meeman Center for Lifelong Learning.

Taijiquan has been characterized as “an elegant slow-motion dance, a moving meditation.” In addition, Western science has begun to acknowledge its beneficial effects for arthritis, bone density,┬ástress reduction, cardiovascular fitness and recovery from heart attacks.

Vigil began his studies in 1989 and has taught Taijiquan both internationally and domestically. On Nov. 2 and Nov. 3, he also will present Taijiquan workshops at the University of Wisconsin.
