Publication Date: 10/14/2013

Margaret Pettyjohn has been named a 2013-2014 Omidyar Fellow. She is executive vice president of retail banking at American Savings Bank in the Hawaiian Islands, overseeing its 57 branches.

The Omidyar Fellows program is based on global best practices in leadership development and a curriculum that’s been customized for emerging leaders in Hawaii. Over a 15-month period, fellows will participate in a rigorous program that’s designed to build stronger leaders, more effective organizations, and cross-sector connections that are necessary to collectively affect community change.

While at Rhodes, Pettyjohn served as a student member of the Board of Trustees finance committee for 1994-95. She began her banking career at National Bank of Commerce after receiving a B.A. in business administration from Rhodes in 1995.
