Rhodes Alumnus Presents Recommendations to U.S. House of Representatives Committee on Science, Engineering and Technology

Dr. Brian R. Wamhoff, Rhodes alumnus and co-founder of HemoShear LLC, testified July 24 at a hearing of the U.S. House of Representatives Committee on Science, Engineering and Technology for the purpose of guiding the draft of new legislation titled “Innovative Approaches to the Technology Transfer Act of 2013.”
HemoShear, a biotechnology research company, is a leading developer of human-relevant systems for drug development and discovery.
Wamhoff received a B.S. in biology with a minor in business administration in 1996 from Rhodes, where he also received the Estelle R. Cone Award for philanthropic work at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and the Outstanding Student Award for Research in Biology. In 2001, he earned a Ph.D. in medical physiology from the University of Missouri-Columbia.
In 2011, Rhodes presented him the Distinguished Alumnus Award.
