1. Camp at Meeman-Shelby Forest State Park
Looking for your fix of Mother Nature? This beautiful state park is nearby and hosts campers year round. Pitch your tent and breathe in that piney air.

2. Enjoy free outdoor concerts at the Levitt Shell
A mix of local and national bands perform Thursday through Sunday evenings at this outdoor venue in nearby Overton Park. Bring a blanket, a snack, and your best moves!

3. Catch a movie at the Orpheum Summer Movie Series
A Memphis summer tradition, the iconic theater screens a critically acclaimed classic film or cult favorite every Friday. The 2013 schedule hasn’t been released yet, but here is a sample of what was shown last year:

This is perfect for blowing off steam right after finals end. From the Beale Street Music Festival to the annual Barbeque cook-off, it’s everything great about Memphis rolled up into one month.
