Best Takeout in Memphis

If there is anything that the entire Rhodes population could agree on, it’s that the only thing better than eating delicious food is eating delicious food in the comfort of your bed. Luckily, Memphis had got us covered in terms of awesome take-out locations, giving us the ability to enjoy a high quality meal while never taking our eyes off of Netflix. So read on and embrace your gluttonous nature.

1. Young Avenue Deli

While everyone loves a sports bar’s menu, not everyone loves the sports bar ambience. Young Avenue Deli, a Memphis favorite, offers their full delectable menu for take out, so you can feast on cheese fries in the comfort of your dorm room. They even deliver until 2 a.m., if you’re having a late night craving.

2. Kwik Chek

If you’re looking for something a little more exotic, look no further than this little convenience store. It may be shabby on the outside, but the gyros, falafel sandwiches, and Korean specialty Bi Bim Bop can’t be beat. It’s also easy on the wallet, which is perfect for struggling, hungry college students.

3. Mulan

No take-out list is complete without a top-of-the-line Chinese restaurant. Mulan definitely takes the prize. In the heart of the Cooper Young district, it’s super close to campus, too. The best part—it offers traditional Chinese food and sushi, just in case you can’t make up your mind between sesame chicken and a spicy tuna roll.

4. Trolley Stop

For your pizza craving, you could always call Dominos, but why would you if you could get an extra large, gourmet pizza for around the same price? Trolley Stop is fresh and delicious, offering delightful pizzas from traditional Margherita to BBQ Chicken to Potato and Rosemary.

5. Gus’s

And, of course, we would be remiss if we didn’t mention Memphis’ number one place to grab a bucket of birds. Gus’s World Famous Fried Chicken is home to some of the best fried chicken and chicken tenders in the city. Don’t forget to order some mac and cheese on the side—you won’t be sorry when you’re eating it in bed later.
