It has been known affectionately by generations of students as “the Rat,” and this fall the Catherine Burrow Refectory reopens in grand style. Originally built in 1925, the building has been renovated and expanded to include 19,000 square feet of additional space.

The expanded Refectory includes a spacious new grand servery, fireside lounge, new kitchen, new private dining rooms and a new dining hall. It features comfortable new furnishings and a variety of seating options for students who want to dine or socialize. Menu options range from stir-fry to vegan fare to baked goods, many of them freshly prepared in the exhibition-style servery.

The Rhodes community celebrates with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Monday, August 20 at noon.
