Publication Date: 7/26/2012
The Women’s Volleyball Team has been honored with a Team Academic Award by the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA). The award is given to those college and high school teams who achieve a cumulative team grade point average (GPA) of 3.3 and higher out of a 4.0 scale during the 2011-2012 academic year. The team’s cumulative GPA for the year was 3.35.
Four other schools from the SCAC and SAA (Centre College, Colorado College, Hendrix College and Southwestern University) and a total of 90 Division III schools were honored with this award.
“Receiving such an honor is a true testament to our players’ dedication to their work in the classroom as well as our success out on the volleyball court,” says Coach Sam Lambert.
