Publication Date: 6/25/2012
Ten Rhodes psychology majors with Dr. Jeffrey J. Sable (Christian Brothers University) will have their research article published in an upcoming printed issue of the journal, ADHD Attention Deficit and Hyperactivity Disorders, which is the official journal of the World Federation of ADHD.
The article titled, “The Sensory Gating Inventory As a Potential Diagnostic Tool for Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder,” currently is available online to journal subscribers. It examines the Sensory Gating Inventory as a “paper/pencil method used to facilitate accurate diagnosis of individuals experiencing ADHD symptoms, which may be especially useful when evaluations are made in settings such as physicians’ offices,” according to the article abstract.
The authors are from the Class of 2012, and they conducted the research in the PSYC 353 course taught by Sable the spring semester of 2011. They are Marie Kyle, Kristin Knopf, Lauren Schully, Megan Brooks, Kelly Parry, Rebecca Diamond, Laura Flink, Rachel Stowe, Elise Suna and Ivy Thompson.
The authors also have another manuscript under review that examines differences in attention-related brain responses between people with and without ADHD.
