Mock Trial Tournament To Be Held in Memphis This Weekend

Once again, Rhodes College has been chosen as one of eight opening round sites for the American Mock Trial Association National Championship Tournament. More than 200 students representing 24 qualifying teams will attend the weekend of March 23-25.

Besides two teams from Rhodes, teams competing include Northwestern University, Vanderbilt University, the University of Texas at Austin, the University of Washington, and the University of Georgia.

Students will arrive on the Rhodes campus for registration which begins at noon on Friday, March 23. Registration and an opening ceremony will occur in Hardie Auditorium.

All rounds will take place in the Shelby County Court House. They begin at 4 p.m. on March 23; 9:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. on March 24; and 9:30 a.m. on March 25. The rounds will be scored by local judges and attorneys and all are open to the public free of charge.

The student competitors will return to the Rhodes campus on March 25 at 1 p.m. for an awards ceremony in Hardie Auditorium.
