Rene Orth ’07 Has Winning Video Entry in Critical Language Scholarship Program Contest

Rhodes alumna and composer Rene Orth has won the 2011 Photo and Video Contest sponsored by the Critical Language Scholarship (CLS) Program in which participants share their experiences abroad.
A CLS scholarship recipient, she studied Chinese in Shanghai, China this summer. The video itself captures a CLS group excursion to Qinghai, China. Orth graduated from Rhodes in 2007 with a B.A. in music and currently is pursuing a master’s degree in music composition as a Bomhard Fellow at the University of Louisville.
CLS is a program of the United States Department of State, Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs, and is administered by the Council of American Overseas Research Centers and American Councils for International Education.
