Grimes ’01 Elected Kentucky Secretary of State In First Bid for Public Office

In her first bid for public office, Rhodes alumna and Lexington attorney Alison Lundergan Grimes defeated her opponent by a nearly 3-2 margin in the race for Kentucky secretary of state on Nov. 8.
Grimes graduated from Rhodes in 2001 with a B.A. degree in political science. She also served as a student trustee and in the Rhodes Student Government. She earned her law degree from American University.
