Rhodes To Host On-Campus Visit by Partnership for Public Service Speaker
Publication Date: 11/8/2011
Rhodes is one out of 110 schools selected to host a guest speaker from the Partnership for Public Service’s Call to Serve Speakers Bureau.
The program offers government employees an opportunity to share their federal story with students and jobseekers across the country, forge connections with these individuals and help recruit talent into government.
On Nov. 9 at 4 p.m., Rachel Wright of the U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) in Washington D.C. will speak to students about federal government careers. Presented by Rhodes’ Career Services, the event will take place in Buckman 110 and is open to students from other universities and colleges.
In her role as human resources specialist for GSA, Wright focuses on the new employee training program, supervisory training, and other leadership development. She has provided advice and guidance to GSA regions on labor relations activities, engaged in collective bargaining with labor unions over conditions of employment, and provided guidance to supervisors on implementing the national contracts for bargaining unit employees. Wright holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Mississippi State University and a master’s degree in human resources management from Loyola University.
