Dr. Cary Fowler Pictured in National Geographic With “Food Ark”

Dr. Cary Fowler, who recently received a Rhodes honorary degree, is featured in the current issue of National Geographic magazine with his “Food Ark.”

According to the article, food varieties extinction is happening all over the world and fast. Fowler is executive director of the Global Crop Diversity Trust and is leading a global effort to ensure the genetic diversity of the world’s food crops is preserved for future generations.

In the magazine, he is pictured holding two vials of peas in front of the Svalbard Global Seed Vault he founded in Norway.
