Lizzie Steen ’12 To Study In New York As Gilder Lehrman History Scholar

Lizzie Steen ’12, a history major with a minor in art, is one of 30 students nationwide who will participate in the 2011 Gilder Lehrman History Scholars Program held in New York City this month. This year’s program received more than 250 applications.
The Gilder Lehrman History Scholars Program identifies and supports the top undergraduate majors in American history across the country. Steen will have opportunities to visit museums and historical sites and meet with distinguished historians, writers, editors, museum curators, and other professionals to participate in discussions about major issues in American history and careers in the field. This year’s Gilder Lehrman Program will focus on “The Outbreak of the Civil War.”
