Matt Gilbert ’11 Honored at Scholar-Athlete Dinner

Rhodes senior and running back Matt Gilbert recently was honored at the annual Memphis Chapter of the National Football Foundation and College Hall of Fame Scholar-Athlete Dinner. Rhodes hosted the event May 9. University of Memphis player Dominik Riley and 11 high schools seniors also were recognized.
During the 2010-2011 season, Gilbert rushed for 796 yards and eight touchdowns and was seventh in SCAC in all purpose yards. He also was named to the first team all SCAC football team.
In April, Gilbert was honored as Most Valuable Player at the Athletic Department’s All-Sports Banquet.
