Members of Rhodes Community Take Plunge In Wolf River for Special Olympics
Publication Date: 2/17/2011
A group of Rhodes students and Jessica Nickoson, director of student involvement, recently participated in the Polar Bear Plunge for Special Olympics of Greater Memphis and won the award for the team raising the most money. The team raised more than $4,000.
Each winter, the Polar Bear Plunge takes place on Mud Island Park, and plungers collect pledges from friends and family to take a dip into the frigid Wolf River. This is the 11th year for the Memphis event.
