Publication Date: 11/4/2010
Six Rhodes students will compete in the upcoming “Battle of the Brains”--the regionals of the 35th annual Association for Computing Machinery International Collegiate Programming Contest sponsored by IBM--on Nov. 6 at Murray State University. They are Stephen Bailey ’12, Anthony Fizer ’12, Matthew Isom ’11, Jeremey Key’13, Rui Liu ’13 and Jonathan Mervine ’11.
Two teams of three students will push their brains to the limits, applying their programming skills and maintaining their mental endurance to solve complex, real-world problems under a grueling five-hour deadline. Tackling these problems is equivalent to completing a semester’s worth of computer programming.
The winner receives a spot on the World Finals roster to be held in Sharm el-Sheikh, Egypt in March.
