Alumna to be Inducted Into Arkansas Aviation Hall of Fame

The Arkansas Aviation Historical Society has selected aviation writer and editor Mary Files Silitch to be inducted into the Arkansas Aviation Hall of Fame for 2010. The ceremony will take place in Little Rock in October.

Silitch is a member of the Rhodes Class of 1957 and was the first female editor of a national aviation magazine--Private Pilot.  After that, she was editor of Professional Pilot.  Her journalism career also includes Aviation International News, and in 2006, the National Business Aviation Association recognized her excellence and lifetime achievement in journalism.

Founded in 1979, the Arkansas Aviation Historical Society operates the Aerospace Education Center (AEC) at the Little Rock National Airport.
