As a homeschooled student, your high school education is unique to you.

You’ll use the same application process as other students, with a few additional steps to help us better understand your particular educational approach and experience.

Common Application

In addition to the standard application process we ask that you submit a description of the philosphy of your homeschooling and a transcript in the format provided. 

Letters of Recommendation

For the Teacher Evaluation portion of the Common Application, please do your best to use a teacher who is not a family member. A college professor or another educator who has worked closely with you are excellent choices. 

SAT II Subject Tests

In addition to the SAT or ACT tests, homeschooled students are required to take at least two SAT Subject Tests (other than English and Math). These give us a better sense of your educational background and preparation in the context of an internationally recognized standardized exam. 

Interviews and Visits

Interviews are strongly encouraged for all applicants but not required. An interview helps us get to know you better and learn more about your academic preparation and experiences outside of your education.

More importantly, you’ll get to see if Rhodes is the place where you want to spend the next four years. Visiting classes, meeting with professors, spending the night on campus and even eating in the dining hall is the best way to get a feel for Rhodes. You can schedule a visit to Rhodes online.
