Environmental science major Tierin Burrow ’19 has won the annual scholarship presented by the Memphis Area Geographic Information Council (MAGIC), a consortium of geographic information system (GIS) professionals spanning the public, private, and governmental business sectors. The award was announced at the group’s conference held Nov. 16-17 at the Agricenter in Memphis.
Burrow, who is a student associate in Rhodes’ GIS Lab, also presented her research—“Memphis Flood Mapping and Evaluating Flood Risk Areas in Shelby County, TN and Proximity to Resources”—at the conference. Prof. Sarah Boyle is her advisor.
