Rhodes Students Experience Working in Health Care Through Summer Medical Program

Four Rhodes students who participated in Baptist Memorial Health Care’s Summer Scholar Program are featured in the hospital’s current newsletter. They are Safiyya Abdulkadir ’17 (neuroscience), Gene Lamanilao ’16 (biochemistry and molecular biology), Christina DiFelice ’17 (biology), and Sarah Shore ’16 (biochemistry and molecular biology).

The enrichment program was designed in partnership with Rhodes for college students interested in pursuing careers in the medical field. It also is open to students from other schools. Participants get to experience what it is like working in a hospital as well as observe firsthand physicians, nurses, and other professionals providing health care.
