Zastoupil Delivers Paper in Germany

Prof. Lynn Zastoupil was invited to deliver a paper from his Herder research project to the Leibnizpreis-Forschungsstelle “Global Processes” at Konstanz University, Germany on July 17. The Leibniz-Preis Forschungsstelle is a research center devoted to historical investigation of the processes of globalization and was founded by Jürgen Osterhammel, who was awarded in 2010 the Leibniz-Preis, Germany’s most prestigious academic award. The title of Zastoupil’s talk was “J. G. Herder, H. H. Wilson and the (Colonial) Politics of Language.”

While in Germany Prof. Zastoupil also attended a conference on intellectual exchanges between India and Germany hosted by the South Asia Institute of Heidelberg University.
