Jackson Profiled in Contemporary Authors, Will Participate at Southern Festival of Books

Prof. Jeff Jackson of the Department of History will be profiled in an upcoming edition of Contemporary Authors.  This widely-used reference series provides biographical and professional information on over 100,000 authors in the United States.  Jackson’s entry will list his publications, reviews of his books in scholarly and academic sources, and honors he has received.  Jackson is the author of Making Jazz French:  Music and Modern Life in Interwar Paris (2003), Music and History:  Bridging the Disciplines (2005), and Paris Under Water:  How the City of Light Survived the Great Flood of 1910 (2010).

Next month, Jackson will participate as a featured author in the Southern Festival of Books, an annual event sponsored by Humanities Tennessee.  Jackson will discuss and read from his latest book, Paris Under Water.  He will also be part of the Authors in the Round Dinner, dining with guests who wish to discuss his book at greater length.  The festival takes place October 8-10 in Nashville.  More information can be found at:  http://tn-humanities.org/festival/index.php.
