Disability Awareness
During the 2010-2011 academic year, the Office of Disability Services implemented a campaign to increase disability awareness on campus entitled The Informed Lynx. This campaign is responsible for the launch of a Facebook page geared toward promoting disability awareness at Rhodes and in the larger community, educational flyers around campus highlighting famous people with disabilities, and a monthly movie night featuring disability in a respectful and informative way. Additional programming for the 2011-2012 academic year is listed below.

Diversity According to South Park & Family Guy
January 31 at 7:00pm
McCallum Ballroom
Matt Glowacki examines “Family Guy” & “South Park” to identify the ways in which these programs break down stereotypical attitudes and behavior regarding people’s differences. Matt’s interpretation of these popular cultural icons not only educates but also encourages a fresh look at life around us. Audience members will never be passive television viewers again but rather will ask, “What’s the point, what’s the moral, and how are they reflective of the goings on of our culture?” Matt will approach diversity according to three main topic areas: Lookism, Ableism, and Racism.
