Need someone to talk to?  The Student Counseling Center provides free and confidential individual counseling for all Rhodes students. What you talk about with your counselor does not become part of your college record. Some of the things that students come to the Counseling Center to talk about include:

  • Test Anxiety
  • Depression
  • Homesickness
  • Stress 
  • Relationship Problems
  • GLBT Issues
  • Academic Problems
  • Couples Counseling
  • Drugs and Alcohol
  • Body Image 
  • Food and Health Issues
  • Social Problems
  • Trauma, Loss and Grief
  • Childhood Abuse 
  • Sexual Assault
  • Family Counseling
  • To make an appointment, call 901-843-3128 between 8:30 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. Appointments are preferred to ensure that students receive quality service. However, walk-ins are welcome and will be seen as soon as is possible.  The Counseling Center is located inside the Moore Moore Health Center, adjacent to the Refectory.

    After Hours: Any Rhodes student who requires counseling services outside of regular office hours should contact campus safety or Lakeside Hospital (901-377-4733). Lakeside Hospital will provide after-hours, confidential evaluations at no cost. Please contact Lakeside Hospital or campus safety if you or someone you care about needs assistance or crisis counseling outside of regular office hours.

    Lakeside services are available

    • in confidence 
    • between 5:00 p.m. and 8:30 a.m. during the week 
    • around the clock on weekends 
    • around the clock during academic breaks
