Potential signs that someone is an emotional abuser include: a controlling nature, putting down their partner, overly critical of their partner, blames partner for their anger, threatens their partner, etc. Signs someone is the emotionally abused include: making excuses for their partner’s behavior, feeling depressed, spending less time with other people or engaging in activities, changing how they act to avoid making their partner angry, etc. If in a physically violent relationship, it is almost guaranteed that emotional abuse accompanies it.
