Counseling Center

The Student Counseling Center provides free and confidential individual counseling for all Rhodes students.  Couples and Family counseling are also available.  There is no charge for counseling sessions, and what you talk about with your counselor does not become part of your college record.  Some of the things that students come to the Counseling Center to discuss include:

  • Test Anxiety
  • Social Anxiety
  • Depression
  • Homesickness
  • Relationship Problems
  • LGBT Issues
  • Academic Problems
  • Sexual Assault
  • Alcohol and Drug Issues
  • Stress
  • Body Image
  • Eating Disorders
  • Childhood Abuse
  • Grief

Students can also meet with a psychiatrist for psychiatric evaluation and the prescription of psychiatric medications.  There is a per-visit fee for appointments with the psychiatrist.  The fee for psychiatric services is billed directly to the student’s Rhodes account, where it is listed as an MD Visit.  No payment is required at the time of service.   All other services provided by the Student Counseling Center are free of charge.  There is no fee for individual, group or family therapy, or for crisis calls, emergency evaluations or consultations with therapists.
