Ways to Get Where You're Going

Rhodes is a small campus in a big city. Here’s 5 ways to get around if you don’t have a car, or if you’re short on gas money.

Zipcar
The Zipcar is a program for students that don’t bring cars to school. Just sign up and reserve a car, get in, drive around town, then put it back where you found it.
Walking
Rhodes is small, so walking is the most common way to get around campus, but there are also restaurants, shops, and parks close enough to walk to.
Bicycles
Bikes are popular way to get around, especially for students living off campus. Memphis has more than 60 miles of protected bike lanes and the Memphis Greenline runs from Midtown to Germantown. Rhodes even has a bike shop on campus where you can rent a bike and receive maintenance.
Skateboard
There are plenty of skateboarding opportunities on campus, and just a short  skate from campus is Midtown Skateshop, where students can go to shop or just hang out in the lounge. (Bonus: It’s right next door to Dino’s Grill, a Rhodes favorite for 40 years. Thursday is all-you-can-eat spaghetti night.)
