Rhodes and Midtown North Offer Emerging Artists Theatre Camp This Summer

Two summers ago, students, faculty and staff from Rhodes’ theatre and film departments and Office of External Programs collaborated on summer projects with children from the North Memphis communities. As a result, the young artists produced their own original play titled “Hollywood Dreams” and the documentary “Far Away Next Door” as well as produced the 2012 Cabaret “We Are Young.”

Youth, ages 11-17, will again have the opportunity to participate in the camp where they can explore theatre, dance, creative writing and other fun activities.

The camp is being held at Cypress Middle School located at 2109 Howell and at Rhodes’ McCoy Theatre from June 3 to Aug. 2 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Rhodes students who will serve as this year’s camp counselors are:

Hannah Chen ’14
Premiese Cunningham ’15
Phat Ho ’14
Taylor LaPorte ’15
Roy Rainey ’13
Rozie Schleinig ’14
