Rhodes graduates who apply to medical school are accepted at a much higher rate than the national average. In recent years, they have been accepted to some of the top medical schools in the country, including Brown, Duke, Emory, Georgetown, Harvard, Johns Hopkins, Washington University, and Yale.
This year, 56 individuals from Rhodes (32 from the class of 2016 and 24 from classes 2013-2015) have been accepted during the 2016 health professions application cycle to prestigious programs at schools such as Baylor, Boston University, University of Virginia, and Wake Forest.
“The most that we’ve ever had accepted in one cycle before this is 43,” says Dr. Alan P. Jaslow, director of Rhodes’ Health Professions Advising (HPA).
Rhodes has a large commitment to students preparing for a career in medicine or other health professions through its HPA program. This commitment starts with programming the first days students are on campus and continues throughout their time at Rhodes to help mentor and advise HPA students.
