Ellie Skochdopole, a junior art history major from Dallas, TX, will spend this summer as an intern in the Office of Public Affairs at the National Portrait Gallery, part of the prestigious Smithsonian Institution.
The Office of Public Affairs is responsible for all public relations for the museum. Interns attend to daily responsibilities and ongoing special projects including writing, researching, responding to visitor comments, corresponding with media, assisting with publicity for exhibitions and working with the National Portrait Gallery staff.
Skochdopole, who has a minor in French, participated in Boston University’s summer Internship program in Paris, France in 2013. As a Rhodes student associate in the Rhodes Office of Communications, she has served as the digital assets assistant and currently is editor of “Campus Culture” on the Rhodes website.
