Rhodes’ Head Field Hockey Coach Jane Wells and Head Women’s Soccer Coach Joe Vari partnered with a group from Lynchburg College and the Sports Outreach Institute to travel to Uganda and Kenya in East Africa. The purpose of the trip was to use soccer as a platform to discuss ways to improve the health and quality of life for children in those areas.
In addition, the Rhodes coaches traveled with 52 pounds of donated soccer shoes and other clothing items for the children.
