As the college celebrates 90 years in Memphis, Rhodes is pleased to contribute to Memphis’ rich musical scene with the 2016 Brubeck Festival.
On December 4th, the Mike Curb Institute of Music welcomed the band Mason Jar Fireflies to 1034 Audubon for the last Audubon Sessions performance of 2015.
Since 1991, the Springfield Music Lecture series has been bringing respected and acclaimed members of the music community to Rhodes for a formal lecture followed by an informal conversation.
On Friday, Nov. 13th, PreauXX (pronounced "Pro”) performed for roughly 50 students, faculty, and Memphians at Elvis’ original Memphis home. This was part of the Mike Curb Institute’s The Audubon Sessions concert series.
Guitarist and Rhodes music alumnus Elliott Ives ’00 recently appeared on the Country Music Awards with singer Justin Timberlake.
As part of Prof. Mona Kreitner’s Fall 2015 Music and Healing course, students volunteer at Hope House, a non-profit that assists children and adults impacted by HIV and AIDS.
The Memphis Chapter NATS (National Association of the Teachers of Singing) auditions were held at the University of Memphis on Oct. 31.
