Description of Economics

Economics is the study of the ways people make a living; produce, distribute, and consume goods and services; and reach decisions about the use of scarce resources. A liberal education in economics provides students with an understanding of the method and techniques of economic analysis, the important economic institutions in our economy and the role that they play, and the policies designed to correct economic problems. With coursework in calculus and business administration, the student will understand how to analyze problems such as inflation, unemployment, and efficient uses of natural resources.
