Graduate School Acceptance Rate

The following information provides an overview of the number of graduates who applied and those who were accepted into advanced degree programs. A total of 138 students applied to graduate/professional programs; 132 students were accepted into advanced-degree programs, and 116 students decided to attend on a full-time basis. An additional 11 students applied, and their applications were pending at the time of the survey. Of those accepted, 96 reported that they were accepted by their first choice of graduate school. Statistics are based on information provided by the student.

National Comparisons

According to the Association of American Medical Colleges, in 2006, 39,108 students applied to medical school, and 18,442 were accepted. The national acceptance rate was 47.2%, and the Rhodes acceptance rate (for medical school only) in 2006 was 88.8% (8/9).

In 2006, 88,700 students applied to law school and 56,000 were accepted, according to the Law School Admissions Council. This is a national acceptance rate of 63.1% compared to the 2006 Rhodes acceptance rate of 96%.
