Student Governance

It takes more than great courses and outstanding facilities to develop a comprehensive worldview. When you join the Rhodes community, you commit yourself to the ideals of both freedom and responsibility represented by the Honor and Social Regulations codes.
Our students oversee their rules and activities through the following elected bodies:
- Rhodes Student Government
- Honor Council
- Social Regulations Council
- Publications Board
- Rhodes Activities Board
These student-run institutions uphold traditions like the century-old Honor Code. Students guard the atmosphere of mutual respect and trust because they own it. This ethical commitment is a guide not just for college, but for life.
Elections for each body takes place in the spring semester and are administered by the Elections Commission. Each first-year class chooses representatives in early September. These members serve until the following spring election.
Here, you’ll learn more about Rhodes′ governance institutions, including their responsibilities, constitutions, and recent initiatives.
