How to Join a Sorority
National Pan-Hellenic Council (NPHC)
Alpha Kappa Alpha, Delta Sigma Theta, Sigma Gamma RhoNPHC organizations do not use a recruitment process similar to the one used by the Interfraternity Council or the Panhellenic Council. NPHC organizations have open recruitment periods that are deemed by the specific organization.
Women interested in joining one of the three National Pan-Hellenic Council (NPHC) organizations should note that individual organizations will hold informational meetings throughout the school year. These meetings will be advertised throughout various locations on campus and will provide aspirants with the opportunity to learn more about an organization, and perhaps get specific intake questions answered. The first informational meeting, Introduction to Fraternity and Sorority Life, will be held on Monday, August 19, 2013 at 7:00pm in Hardie Auditorium.
Women interested in joining one of the three National Pan-Hellenic Council (NPHC) organizations should contact the individual chapter or visit the organization′s national website for more information regarding intake. The registration fee for women signing up for Panhellenic Recruitment before Monday, August 19, 2013 will be $40.00. The registration fee for women signing up for Panhellenic Recruitment after Monday, August 19, 2013 will be $60.00. The first informational meeting, Introduction to Fraternity and Sorority Life, will be held on Monday, August 19, 2013 at 7:00pm in McCallum Ballroom/Crain Reception Hall.
The last day to register is Thursday, August 22, 2013 at the midnight (between Wednesday and Thursday). The final informational meeting, Sorority 101, will be at 7:00pm in the BCLC Ballroom on Friday, August 23, 2013.

Panhellenic Recruitment 2013 schedule is as follows:
- Sunday, August 25, 2013: Open House
- Friday, August 30, 2013: Philanthropy Event
- Saturday, August 31, 2013: Sisterhood Event
- Sunday, September 1, 2013: Preference Event
- Monday, September 2, 2013: Bid Day
Recommendation Letters are encouraged, but not required to participate in Sorority Recruitment at Rhodes College. Each national organization has their own requirement for membership selection. Contact your local Alumnae Panhellenic Council or visit the national website of the organization for more information. Alumnae will know if their organization requires a letter or introduction form for reference letters. Please send recommendation letters to the address below and address it to the specific chapter (Alpha Omicron Pi, Kappa Delta, Chi Omega, Delta Delta Delta). The letters will then be distributed by the Office of Student Involvement to each chapter′s campus mailbox.
