Where I Went: Sevilla, Spain
When I Went: Fall 2012
Program: Academic Programs International (API)
Hi, my name is Libby LeCorgne. I am an Anthropology, Sociology major with a concentration in Psychology. I chose to study abroad the fall of my junior year to the small city in southern Spain, Sevilla. The city was a great size for me because I wanted a place that was easily walkable but still offered a variety of activities. While abroad, I took classes at the University of Pablo de Olivide. I was able to find a program that offered classes taught in English but still was very immersion oriented. I lived with a host family whom I came to adore. API has many programs in place that helped ease the transition such as a great orientation week, cultural events and excursions, and employees on sight. There were twenty total students on my program, but we often teamed up with another API group in Sevilla. I loved all the friends I made there! With classes only two days a week, I was able to travel a good deal throughout Europe including Paris, Amsterdam, Berlin, Italy, Prague, Vienna, and Budapest. My time abroad was truly an incredibly transformative experience in which I grew in so many ways. As an iPA, I hope to inspire you to study abroad and help you in anyway I can along the way!
