Where I Went: Oxford, England

When I Went: Summer ′10

Program: British Studies at Oxford

Hi, I’m Martha Falls. I spent six weeks in Oxford, England at St. John’s College with students from Rhodes and other small colleges in the south. While on British Studies, I learned about Medieval Britain, in particular music and worship during the Renaissance and the history of physicists, alchemists, and scientists in the Middle Ages. I went on many excursions through the program including Stonehenge, Durham, York, Blenheim Palace, and London. I also traveled with my friends to Wales for a relaxing weekend and London for some tourist-y activities. While I absolutely loved my weekends in other destinations, Oxford was the city of my dreams. A walking town with plenty of friendly Brits and American students, the college town has a vibrant, exhilarating atmosphere and there is always something going on! I would highly recommend this program to students considering study abroad. Without a doubt, this was the best summer of my life!
