Eligibility Requirements:
Minimum GPA of 2.75 and be in good academic and social standing
Prerequisites:
Students must have completed Spanish 102 or the equivalent, or have permission of the faculty leader, for Spanish 209 credit. Students must have completed Spanish 202 or the equivalent, or have permission of the faculty leader, for Spanish 309 credit.
Program Cost:
The cost for this program is $3100 (airfare not included)
Program Description:
This language and cultural immersion program will be conducted in conjunction with Estudio Sampere in Cuenca, Ecuador, with excursions to Quito, Ingapirca, Otavalo, El Cajas, and Hacienda Totorillas. Five days per week, students will have 2 daily hours of instruction in intermediate or advanced language, 2 daily hours of instruction in cultural and conversational competency, a 45-minute Rhodes session, and 1 supplemental activity. Weekend cultural excursions are integrated into the language and cultural learning goals of the course. Students stay with and take meals with a host family in Cuenca.
