My name is Natalie Mayo and I spent my Junior Spring Semester in Florence. I was extremely fortunate to live in one of Florence’s most historical areas, Piazza Signoria, with seven other American roommates. As an English major and Art History minor, Florence was the ideal city for me to spend my semester abroad. Florence is considered the birthplace of the Renaissance and includes many of the masterpieces I studied in my Art History classes at Rhodes. It was thrilling to see these works of art and architecture in real life! I also had the opportunity to study the works of Dante, a native Florentine, and literature of other Italian poets.  In addition to studying Italian art and Literature, I took photography and drawing classes with American and international students. I enjoyed becoming immersed into the culture of Italy.  Studying abroad was truly an unforgettable and life changing experience!
