Assistant Professor, Evolutionary Biologist/Plant Biology
Dr. Jabaily′s research lab focuses on reconstructing the evolutionary history of plants from global hotspots of biodiversity including southwestern Australia and Andes mountains. She is particularly interested in systematics of the Goodeniaceae and Bromeliaceae plant families. The lab generates molecular sequence data and then employs phylogenetic and biogeographic computational methods to determine the evolutionary relationships between species and decipher the evolutionary forces that produced and maintain this biodiversity. Dr. Jabaily is also interested in promoting knowledge of local botanical diversity.
