The Search Library Resources tool serves as a gateway to the online research sources available through Barret Library. Users can now select one of the option buttons below the search box, type in keywords, titles, subjects, or names, and click Search to find available resources.

Here′s how to use the search options:

Search for books/journal titles, DVDs, reserves - This option searches the Barret Library Online Catalog.

Search for database titles (e.g. ProQuest), subject guides, & other online resources

Use this option if:

  • you have the title of an online source in which you′d like to search (ex. Sociological Abstracts, JSTOR, BioOne)
  • you have a specific subject or topic to search (ex. population)
  • you are looking for a type of source (ex. Spanish dictionary)
  • you want to create a subject guide based on a topic or even a Rhodes academic department name. For example,  if you want to find electronic resources pertaining to Religious Studies, type religious studies in the search box, click Search and a subject guide of databases, journals, reference works, and websites is displayed.

Search for articles in multiple databases simultaneously - This is a good place to start if you have the title of an article and you need the full text.

Search for titles of full text journals - Select this option if you have a journal title and you need  to know if you have full text access.

WorldCat (locate book and journal titles worldwide) - After determining that Rhodes does not own the item you need, use WorldCat to locate the item at other libraries. An interlibrary loan (login required) can be requested for items not available locally.

[Note: Off campus access to fulltext databases and online journals through EZ Proxy is possible for persons with permission to use the Rhodes campus network.]
