What kind of wireless card should I buy to access the Rhodes Wireless Network?

Connectivity in the residence halls is exclusively wireless; there are no network ports. If your computer does not have wireless, we recommend the Linksys Compact Wireless-G USB/w SpeedBooster (WUSB54GSC) or the Linksys Compact Wireless-G USB Adapter (WUSB54GC).You may purchase one of these adapters from the Rhodes Bookstore, Best Buy, and many online resellers. Both adapters comply with our 802.1x authentication.  They work with desktop and laptop computers equipped with a USB port.

If you are using a Macintosh laptop, purchase and install an Apple Airport Extreme Card.  Be sure to verify that your Mac has an Airport Extreme slot before buying one, however. Note that ITS does not support the use of non-Apple wireless cards on the Rhodes Wireless Network.
