Media Services
Event Setup Assistance
- Event setup assistance may be requested via the “I would like assistance with equipment setup” checkbox in the Events Management System.
- Any request for assistance must come at least one week before the event.
- A Media Services student will create a helpdesk ticket and will contact the requester to arrange the assistance.
- Assistance is limited to equipment training prior to the event, and equipment setup/breakdown. Videography, audio recording, and presentation cueing are not available without a paid technician.
- If assistance is needed at an event and a student cannot be present due to scheduling conflicts, or if the assistance needed is not available in-house, an alternative assistance contact will be suggested. Alternative assistance will typically be a paid third party; either a freelance technician or an AV company.
- Any contract or agreement with a paid technician will be between the event organizer and the third party, and is not the responsibility of the Media Services students or Event Management Office in any way.
Equipment Reservations
- Reservations for audiovisual equipment must be made via the Events Management System at least 48 hours before the equipment will be needed.
- Equipment may be picked up at the Media Center and checked out to the client in the same way as any other library asset.
- The Media Center will give training on the equipment at the time of checkout on request.
- Equipment should be returned before the due date to the Media Center.
- Equipment will be checked upon return for damage, missing components, and personal data.
The following equipment may be checked out at the Media Center on the lower level of the library. The equipment is not available after 4:00 PM on Friday until 3:30 PM on Sunday without advance notice. The equipment is for staff, faculty and students only. Documentation for use is included, and library staff is unable to offer on-the-spot training.
To reserve a piece of equipment, choose the Media Center location in the Events Management System. You don′t need to fill out the description field, just fill out the basic information and request your items in the A/V Equipment tab. Remember, you must pick up your equipment in the Media Center on the lower floor of the Barret Library unless you′ve scheduled for event setup assistance.
Use either the links below or the list to the right for more information about the item(s) you would like to reserve. Click on the item name to proceed to the reservation page. Of course, if you have any questions, contact the helpdesk.
