The students of the College published their first annual in 1899 when the school was located in Clarksville, Tennessee and known as Southwestern Presbyterian University.

Another annual followed in 1900, 1906, 1908 and 1909 and then financial problems stopped production.  In 1924, publication of annuals began again and there was an annual every year until 2011.

Because annuals are a good source of information about individuals and the College, our collection was beginning to show the effects of high use. A scanning project was started to preserve and make searchable online the ninety-two existing annuals.  Ya Yu, Class of 2013. began scanning annuals in the summer of 2010 and has continued the project a few hours a week since then.  Ya has scanned and edited 32 annuals which have been uploaded to a digital collection in DLynx; the Rhodes College Archives Digital Collection.  The project will be continued by Emily Hoch, Class of  2016.
